This is a series of conversations with Germans who grew up during WWII or right after. I am interested in how new norms were engineered in society, and the psychological experience of switching one's ideology. 

A former playboy bunny is arrested for infringing the privacy and dignity of a 70 year old woman. While completing her 30 days of community labor, she goes on an apology publicity tour, showing no real remorse. This is an ideal case to discuss the nature of discipline in our correctional process. Most other crimes are motivated by a whole host of elements, this one is very much a case of 'how not to be an ass.' Is discipline an appropriate strategy for moral education? 

The problem of moral luck: Two drunkards speed down the same road. Driver A drives through an intersection just as a pedestrian dashes across. He doesn't stop in time, hits him and is charged with manslaughter. On Driver B's drive home, no pedestrian dashes across the street. He is only charged with driving under the influence.
